ABILENE, Texas - Four Hardin-Simmons volleyball players were named honorable mention All-American Southwest Conference West Division, including three freshman in voting by the league's head coaches it was announced Wednesday.

Freshmen Tanner Ellison, Lizzie Tomas and Virginia Aguilar joined junior Maggie Barnhill on the team.

Ellison is an outside hitter from Dallas, Tomas is a setter and outside hitter from Plano, Aguilar is a middle blocker from Kalaheo, Hawaii and Barnhill is a middle blocker/outside hitter from Abilene High.

The Cowgirls finished the season 8-18, but went 8-8 in their last 16 matches and won four of the last five matches of the season. The Cowgirls return 13 players for next season, including 10 freshmen. They will play for a new coach next season as Krystal Brodbeck resigned following the season.
