ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team hopes that it can scratch the win column for the first time this season when it hosts American Southwest Conference rival Howard Payne, Tuesday evening 7 p.m. in the Mabee Complex in its conference opener.

The Cowgirls (0-7) are coming off a weekend at Austin College were it won its first games of the season, pushing UT-Tyler and McPherson College to four games.

Junior Maggie Barnhill leads the Cowgirls with 56 kills. Freshman Virginia Aguilar leads the team in blocks with 39.

Howard Payne is 2-4 on the season and 0-1 in ASC West play.
