June 21, 2005 PLANO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball coaches Hugh and Stephanie Hernesman recently participated as coaches at the USA Volleyball High Performance Camp in Plano. High Performance is a feeder program for the US National Olympic Team and serves as an identification tool for USA Volleyball. There were 25 of the top players in the North Texas region. "We got the opportunity to work with some of the most talented kids in North Texas," said Hugh Hernesman. "We learned a lot of volleyball from Erikka Gulbranson who was the director of the camp and is an assistant for the US National team. She also is the head coach for the Youth National team. We will bring some of the things we learned to the court at HSU this fall." The Hernesman's were the only college coaches to be selected to work the camp. They are preparing for their second season at Hardin-Simmons and have recruited one of the top classes in the ASC this season. |
