ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped its first match of the season to an American Southwest Conference West Division foe with a 30-27, 20-30, 30-26, 15-30, 17-15 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor, Friday night at the Mabee Complex. The Crusaders won the first game with a late push. HSU stormed back and dominated game two, before the Crusaders won game three and HSU raced through game four. The Cowgirls led 11-5 in the final game, before UMHB made a late rally for the win. Taylor McFarland had 20 kills to lead the Cowgirl attack and Ali Childers added 12. Amanda Crawford led UMHB with 16 kills and Stephanie Little hit .625 with 10 kills. HSU will host senior day on Saturday when it plays Concordia-Austin at noon. Jessica Shrieve is the Cowgirls' lone senior. |
