Cowgirls Fall in Three to Tarleton State

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Tarleton State in non-conference action Tuesday night at the Mabee Complex in Abliene, 30-26, 30-22, 30-19.

The Cowgirls fell to 17-9 with the loss and Tarleton State improved to 15-14. The Cowgirls used a revamped lineup that included five freshmen in the starting lineup. HSU will host Mary Hardin-Baylor and Concordia-Austin this weekend to close out the regular season.

In the first game the Cowgirls rallied to tighten the match, but TSU pulled away at the end to win 30-26. TSU took it to the Cowgirls young attack in the second and third games. In the third game TSU hit .455 as a team.

HSU was led by Amber Montgomery's 11 kills and Krystal Ziehe had 19 digs at her libero position. Taylor McFarland had 10 kills in 22 swings.
