Oct. 20, 2007 SHERMAN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team split a pair of matches in the final day of the Austin College Invitational, Saturday afternoon in Sherman. The Cowgirls avenged a pair of its losses on the year by beating UT Dallas 31-29, 30-24, 30-27. HSU had a balanced attack in that match as Kalea Parnell had 12 kills, Chelsea Buetow had 11, Cambra Hughes had 10 and Amanda Mace had nine. HSU put the match away with a near flawless second game when they had 19 kills and just one error and a .600 hitting percentage. Against nationally-ranked Austin College the Cowgirls fell 30-19, 30-28, 30-24. Parnell had eight kills and Mace added seven. HSU is now 20-7 on the year and will close its regular season with a pair of games this week. |
