ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team swept Schreiner University, 30-21, 30-18, 30-24 in American Southwest Conference action at the Mabee Complex on Friday evening. The Cowgirls played one of their better matches of the season hitting .281 with only 11 hitting errors the entire match. Chelsea Buetow and Virginia Aguilar each had solid matched with 13 and kills respectively. Kerra LeBlanc led the defense with 24 kills. Schreiner was led by Rachel Mikuelo's eight kills. With the win the Cowgirls improved to 7-11 overall and 4-8 in ASC action. Schreiner fell to 5-18 and 2-13 in league play. HSU hosts conference leader Texas Lutheran on Saturday. The match will be the last home appearance for seniors Maggie Barnhill and Kerra LeBlanc. |
