Cowgirls Fall in Four

Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team dropped a four-set match to UT-Permian Basin in non-conference action Thursday night at the Mabee Complex, 30-27, 25-30, 36-34, 30-21.

The match was basically decided in the third game when the two teams exchanged side out after side out and the Falcons finally won 36-34.

Virginia Aguilar led the Cowgirl attack with 17 kills. Megan Lawrence and Ali Childers added 11 and 10 kills respectively. Megan Lawrence led the defense with 28 digs. Amanda Keithley had 16 digs, 48 assists and five kills and Ali Childers had her serve working with six service aces.

UTPB was led by Amithy Henry's 18 kills. HSU played the match without two of its top offensive weapons - Chelsea Buetow (ankle injury) and Taylor McFarland (death in the family).

HSU is now 11-7 on the year and UTPB improved to 15-6. HSU has a crucial ASC match Friday night at Texas Lutheran.
