ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team swept American Southwest Conference foe Texas Lutheran, 30-13, 30-26, 30-26 to stay atop the ASC West Division standings Saturday morning at the Mabee Complex. The Bulldogs had no answer for the Cowgirls' Kaela Parnell who had 20 kills and just one error in 36 swings for a .528 hitting percentage. She also added nine blocks in the match as the Cowgirls dominated from the outset. Megan Lawrence and Cambra Hughes had nine and eight kills respectively. Jamie Jahns led the Bulldogs with 10 kills. HSU came out focused in the first game and defeated the Bulldogs 30-13. The Cowgirls had 22 kills in the first game. The Cowgirls moved to 8-4 on the year and are now 5-0 in ASC West action. Texas Lutheran fell to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in league action. HSU plays at the ASC Crossover in Mississippi next weekend. |
