Sept. 19, 2002 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' volleyball team defeated Howard Payne, 30-21, 30-13, 30-28, in American Southwest Conference volleyball action Thursday night at the Mabee Complex. Jenny Brawner led the Cowgirls offensive attack with 14 kills and 22 total attacks. Terri Guajardo added eight kills and 18 total attacks. Kasey Ridings led the team with 31 assists. Freshman Rebecca Delgado led the team with six service aces and eight digs. Freshman Megan Donohue recorded three service aces in her Cowgirl debut. Guajardo and Brawner had four solo blocks each. The Cowgirls move to 2-0 in ASC action and 8-3 overall. HSU will return to action when it plays Sul Ross Friday at 3 p.m and College of the Southwest at 5 p.m. at Alpine, Texas. |
