The first player in HSU history to be voted a four-year team captatin. 2006: Started 27 matches for the Cowgirls and had 258 kills, 208 digs and 86 blocks. Earned first-team All-ASC West Division honors. Was named Academic All-ASC. 2005: Was named to the All-ASC West Division second team. Started 18 of the 28 matches she played in and had 159 kills, 25 assists, 40 digs and 73 blocks. Was an ASC Academic All-Conference selection. 2004: Had a solid first season for the Cowgirls as a part-time starter. Had 133 kills, 44 assists, 58 digs and 63 blocks. Transferred to the Cowgirls from Midwestern State in the spring of 2004. High School: Was an academic all-state selection and an honorable mention all-district performer at Abilene High School. Personal: Daughter of David Lawrence and Jimmy and Cyndi Smith. Has three brothers, Drew, Scott and Josh. Born Aug. 22, 1984. English major. Her grandfather Joe Black played golf at HSU.
