ALPINE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' tennis teams swept Sul Ross State in their conference opener on Saturday, both teams beat the Lobos 9-0.

The Cowboys won 9-0 and did not lose a set in the process. Doug Eckstein won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Daniel Moore also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. Wade Morgan, Justin Lockaby, Samuel Miers and Trey Chavez all earned wins.

With the win, the Cowboys improved their ASC winning streak to 52 straight matches.

In the women's match the Cowgirls rolled just as easily, dropping only one set at No. 2 singles. Tracy Henington swept at Ni. 1 singles and doubles, teaming with Hazel de la Torre. Bria Camarillo and Brittany Brazzell both won their singles matches and teamed to win at No. 2 doubles and Sara West and Kassidi Langley also swept singles and won at No. 3 doubles.

The Cowgirls have now won 59 straight matches in ASC play.

Both teams will travel to Concordia-Austin and Southwestern on Saturday.
