Henington Wins Third Straight ASC Individual Title

Hardin-Simmons women's tennis team played well in the American Southwest Conference Individual Tournament. Tracy Henington led the Cowgirls to a win in singles and a second place finish in doubles.

Henington, a junior, has won the ASC Individual tournament for the third straight year. In the finals she defeated Beth Launius of UT-Tyler in two sets, 6-0; 7-6.

In doubles, Henington and her partner Bria Camarillo were seeded second in flight one. They advanced to the final round only to fall to the No. 1 seeded team of Nicole Barrett and Beth Launius of UT-Tyler. The Cowgirls advanced to the quarterfinals in four of their five flights in singles.

The HSU Women's tennis team travels back to Tyler to compete in the ITA on Oct. 29.
