ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's team fared well at the Abilene Christian University Wal-Mart Invitational held Sept 10-11 in Abilene.

All-American Rebecca Watkins advanced to the finals of flight 1 singles, before dropping a three-set thriller to Beesley of Abilene Christian, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4. McKenzie Swindle went 1-1 in flight 1.

Hazel de la Torre advanced to the flight 2 semifinals and eventually placed third. Caroline Scott finished fifth in the flight 2 and Stephanie Haynes finished eighth.

Freshman Tracy Henington placed third in flight 3.

In doubles Watkins and Haynes placed third in flight 1, Swindle and Hennington won flight 2 and Scott and de la Torre won flight 3.
