Cowgirls Fall To Linfield in First Round of NCAA Championship

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team fell 5-1 to Linfield College in the first round of the NCAA Championship, Friday afternoon at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont, Calif.

Linfield jumped out to a 2-1 led after doubles play. Hazel de la Torre and Bria Camarillo won at No. 2 singles, 8-6. Tracy Henington and Brittany Brazell fell 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and Sara West and Kassidi Langley fell at No. 3 doubles, 8-1.

In singles action, Linfield received straight set wins at No. 4, 5 and 6 to wrap up the match. Henington had split sets at No. 1 singles, Brazell had lost a first-set tiebreak 7-6 and de lea Torre dropped the first set 6-4.

The Cowgirls conclude their season with a record of 12-4.
