Cowgirls Earn Right To Host ASC Tournament

BELTON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team won its 65th straight American Southwest Conference match with a 6-3 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, Sunday afternoon in Belton.

Tracy Henington remained undefeated in ASC play with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles with Brittany Brazzell.

HSU was playing without No. 2 player Hazel de la Torre, who as a nursing major had her clinicals today.

Brazzell stepped up with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles and Bria Camarillo also moved up and won her match at No. 3. Sara West lost a 6-4, 6-3, match at No. 4 singles and Kassidi Langley came through with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles. Camarillo and Chain won at No. 3 doubles.

HSU is 10-2 on the year and 7-0 in ASC West action. HSU completed the regular season undefeated in league play and will host the American Southwest Conference Tournament April 26-28. UMHB fell to 3-6 overall and 3-3 in league action.
