AUSTIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team dominated every match en route to a 9-0 win over Concordia-Austin to run its American Southwest Conference winning streak to 43 matches, Saturday afternoon in Austin. HSU also lost a thrilling 5-4 match against nationally-ranked Trinity. The Cowgirls won five of the six singles matches 6-0, 6-0 and won all three doubles matches 8-0 in the win over Concordia. The Cowgirls lost just one game in the match. In the loss to Trinity, the Cowgirls lost at the top three singles matches and won the bottom three. The Tigers won the match in doubles winning No. 1 and 2 at 8-4 each. Freshman Hazel de la Torre defeated No. 24 Megan Suarez in the match 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. Sarah Beth Bolin and McKenzie Swindle also picked up wins. HSU is now 7-5 overall and 3-0 in league play. HSU will conclude its regular season ASC play with four matches this weekend. |
