ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team extended its American Southwest Conference winning streak to 63 matches with a 7-2 win over crosstown rival McMurry at the Streich Tennis Center Monday afternoon. The Cowgirls cruised in the first five singles, dropping only one set. Tracy Henington remained undefeated at No. 1 singles in ASC action and teamed with Hazel de la Torre at No. 1 doubles to also stay undefeated in league play. Brittany Brazzell, de la Torre, Bria Camarillo and Sara West won singles matches. Brazzell and Camarillo won at No. 2 doubles. Kim Patterson of McMurry won at No. 6 singles and she teamed with Amy Hathorn to win at No. 3 doubles to account for both of McMurry's wins. The Cowgirls will be off until April 13 when it plays Mary Hardin-Baylor. HSU is 8-2 overall and 5-0 in league play. McMurry fell to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in league play. |
