ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team lost to nationally-ranked Kenyon College, 8-1, and defeated UT-Dallas in non-conference action 9-0. The Cowgirls were only able to pick up a win at No. 1 doubles, where Tracy Henington and Hazel de la Torre stayed undefeated in doubles action this spring, against Kenyon College. At No. 3 singles, Brittany Brazzell went to a second set tiebreak before falling and it was the closest the Cowgirls came to a win in singles action. HSU's match with UT-Tyler was also rained out. Against UT-Dallas, the Cowgirls did not drop a set in the match and cruised through double action. The Comets defaulted at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Henington and de la Torre each cruised in singles and won their No. 1 doubles match 8-1. Brittany Brazell, Bria Camarillo, Sara West and Mallory Chain all won singles matches. Camarillo and Brazell teamed for the win at No. 2 doubles. The Cowgirls are 4-1 this spring and will return to ASC action on March 30 against Schreiner. |
