Cowgirls Split In Non-Conference Tennis

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Streich Tennis Center, defeating Southwestern 8-1 and falling 7-2 to Division II East Central (Okla.).

Freshman Diane Crouch won the only singles match for the Cowgirls against East Central. She won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 6 singles. Jennifer Chueng and Sarah McAfee teamed for a win at No. 3 doubles.

In the win over Southwestern, the Cowgirls won five of the six singles matches. Tracy Henington won at No. 1 singles and teamed for a win with Brittany Brazell for a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles. Brazell won her No. 3 singles matches.

Lisa Mertz, Bria Camarillo and Crouch all won their singles matches for HSU.

The Cowgirls are now 3-3 on the year and will be off until hosting Whitman on March 14.
