WITCHITA FALLS, Texas - The HSU women's tennis team received their second loss of the season this past weekend against Division II Midwestern State University. The Cowgirls are now 6-2 on the season and 2-2 against NCAA Division II schools.

The Cowgirls got a late start on match play Saturday due to wet and cold weather. The matches were scheduled for 11:00a.m. against MSU and 1:00p.m against UTD. After three hours of delay the Cowgirls finally began play against MSU and the UTD match was canceled.

HSU came out slow only picking up wins from the doubles team of Nancy Chandler and Bobbye Thompson. The Cowgirls then picked up their play with wins from Sarah Bartlett, Allison Baker, and Bobbye Thompson in singles. Unfortunately that was not enough to clinch the win. The Cowgirls fell to MSU 5-4.

The Cowgirls will return to action this Tuesday, March 4th with an ASC showdown against cross-town rival McMurry. Play will begin at 1:00p.m at the HSU courts.
