Feb. 24, 2006 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis teams opened their season with a 9-0 win over Sul Ross State, Friday night at the Abilene Country Club. The win pushed the Cowgirls ASC winning streak to 50 straight matches. HSU rolled through the doubles matches with Allison Baker and McKenzie Swindle winning, 8-2 at No. 1 over Christina Arenavis and Jessica Yanez. Heather Ridgeway and Bria Camarillo won 8-0 at No. 2 and Sul Ross State defaulted at No. 3. Tracy Henington sealed the match at No. 1 singles as she defeated Jessica Yanez, 6-4, 6-1. When Camarillo won 6-0, 6-0 at No.5 and SRSU defaulted at No. 6 singles the Cowgirls had the match won at 6-0. The remaining three matches on the court played a pro set and the Cowgirls won all four. HSU hosts Concordia-Austin on Saturday at the Streich Tennis Center. HSU 9, Sul Ross State 0 Singles Tracy Henington (HSU) def. Jessica Yanez, 6-4, 6-1 Hazel de la Torre (HSU) def.
