ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons women's tennis team completed this weekend ASC tournament with three first place titles and three second place titles. The Cowgirls dominated in both singles and doubles this past weekend.

Due to the weather the Cowgirls only were able to play one singles match and two doubles matches on Friday, which left a possibility of three singles and two doubles matches on Saturday. Even with the rescheduling and not much rest time the Cowgirls still came out on top.

Junior [1] Nancy Chandler won the Flight 1 singles title defeating [2]Lauren Bicker of Mississippi College. Flight 2 singles semifinals freshman McKenzie Swindle defeated teammate Allison Baker, before defeating her other teammate [1]Candace Hanes in a battle for the championship title.

In doubles action HSU once again had to battle with teammates. For the semifinal match in Flight 1 doubles, the duo of Allison Baker and McKenzie Swindle battled with [1] Nancy Chandler and Bobbye Thompson before losing 8-6. Then for the finals [1] Nancy Chandler and Bobbye Thompson once again battled with teammates Candace Hanes and Stephanie Haynes, before winning the doubles title.

After the tournament, third-year head coach Jimmy Cole had nothing but positive things to say about his women's team. The Cowgirls will return to action this weekend when they travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to play Midwestern at 9:00a.m and UT Dallas at 1:00p.m.
