ABILENE, Texas -
Hardin-Simmons' freshman pitcher Keri Ivey had been named the first American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week in school history, winning Pitcher of the Week honors after her performances last week.
Keri Ivey had the best week ever by a Cowgirl as she won back-to-back games vs. Sul Ross State (Apr. 3) and tallied 15 strikeouts against no walks in four appearances over last week's ASC West games.
Ivey carried a perfect game to two outs in the seventh inning of Saturday's third SRSU game before a bloop single got into right field. Ivey finished allowing two more hits but no runs to record the first shutout in HSU history. Ivey allowed one run in seven innings of the first game of the day's tripleheader. The freshman worked in both games at Howard Payne on Tuesday (Mar. 30), taking a loss in the opener.
