Feb. 16, 2004 ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' softball team will play its inaugural games as they travel to the metroplex to play Northwood in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday. The Cowgirls have 16 players on the roster for their first campaign. Keri Ivey, a freshman from Clyde, and Brandi Wicker, a senior from Hurst, will see action on the mound for the Cowgirls. "The girls have been working hard since we started spring workouts and they are excited to get an opportunity to put on that Hardin-Simmons uniform for the first time," said head coach Rita Jordan. "We are going to be a work in progress, but this team has a lot of potential. We will see how it goes when we step between the white lines for the first time." HSU will play its first home game at its new complex on Grape Street on Saturday at 10 a.m. in a doubleheader against Tarleton State. |
