Final Stats

AUSTIN, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' softball team swept a doubleheader from Concordia-Austin on Saturday in Austin 9-3 and 6-3 to move to 30-7 on the year and finish its regular season.

In the first game pitcher Arin Spence moved to 20-3 on the year with a win in the circle. Leadoff hitter Nicole Cortez sparked the offense going 3-for-3 with a hit by pitch and scoring four runs. Sadyie Hill had a two run home run in the sixth.

In the second game, Kati Winkler moved to 2-1 on the mound with the win. She allowed just six hits and three runs. Cortez was again the offensive catalyst with three hits and three runs scored. Spence had two hits and Hill had a two-run home run.

The Cowgirls finished the regular season 30-7 overall and 23-5 in league play. Concordia ended its season with a 17-21 overall mark and 13-15 ledger in conference action.

HSU has a first round bye in the American Southwest Conference Tournament and will play the winner of the Texas Lutheran/UT-Dallas game on Friday at 11 a.m. at Southwest Park in Irving.
