ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' softball team snapped an 11-game winning streak with a 6-1 loss to Abilene Christian at ACU's Wells Field, Tuesday evening. ACU got to the Cowgirls in the first after a single, walked batter and hit batter then Jade Wilson lined a grand slam over the left field wall into the 30 MPH wind. The Wildcats added a pair of runs in the fifth. Lydia Bradley had two of the Cowgirls three hits. Nicole Cortez had the lone RBI. Spence fell to 15-3 with the loss. Jennifer Leal earned the win for ACU. HSU is now 24-5 on the year and ACU improved to 25-15. The two will play a doubleheader next Tuesday at HSU. The Cowgirls host Texas Lutheran in a four-game set this weekend at Cowgirl field. |
