KERRVILLE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's softball team dropped all four games of its American Southwest Conference series at Schreiner over the weekend. HSU dropped the first game 2-1 in nine innings. Schreiner scored the winning run in the ninth, spoiling a great pitching effort by Amber Pierce in her first outing of the season. She only allowed one run in 7 and 2/3 innings of work. Five Cowgirls had one hit each. In game two on Friday, the Cowgirls dropped a 6-1 decision. Pierce had two hits and Ashley Lang had the Cowgirls lone RBI. Keri Ivey took the loss on the mound. In game one on Saturday, Ashley Lang had two hits and four RBIs in the Cowgirls 14-6 loss to the Mountaineers. Brandi Wicker took the loss. The Cowgirls dropped the nightcap on Saturday 2-0. Ivey took the loss despite a solid outing. She allowed just one earned run. Three Cowgirls had one hit each. HSU fell to 3-17 overall and 0-11 in ASC West play. Schreiner improved to 6-8 overall and 6-6 in ASC West play. HSU plays at Howard Payne on Tuesday. |
