March 12, 2005 LONGVIEW, Texas - Arin Spence continued her hot weekend with two more wins on Saturday on the mound as the Cowgirls swept through the LeTourneau Softball Classic with a 9-1 win over LeTourneau and a 8-3 win over Northwood, Saturday in Longview. Spence went 4-0 on the week and improved to 6-0 on the year on the mound. She also hit .500 6-for-12 in the tournament with two homers and seven RBIs. Sadyie Hill had eight hits in 12 at-bats in the tournament and Miranda Rousset added seven hits, two home runs and nine RBIs. On Saturday against Northwood, Spence, Nicole Cortez and Courtney Stewart each had two hits. Spence has three RBIs. Lydia Bradley drove in two runs as the Cowgirls cruised to their ninth win in 10 games. In the first game of the day Rousett had a two-run double and a three-run home run to give the Cowgirls five of their nine runs. HSU is now 10-2 on the year and will play Howard Payne in the ASC West opener in a doubleheader on Tuesday. The games will be the home opener for the Cowgirls. --- HSU Athletics --- |
