ABILENE, Texas - Erika Lay and Mollie Porter, two standouts for the Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team, were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association All-South Region Team that was announced on Thursday.

Lay was named to the first team after leading the Cowgirls to the NCAA Tournament. She was named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year this season after scoring 12 goals.

Porter, a junior sweeper from Austin, is on the team for the second straight season, this time as a second-team selection. She led the Cowgirls stingy defense that allowed just 15 goals on the season. She was named the American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

The Cowgirls were 16-4 this season and won the American Southwest Conference.
