Nov. 14, 2004 INDIANAPOLIS - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer will take their quest for a National Championship on the road when they travel to Tacoma, Wash., for the Sectional Round of the Division III Championship. The Cowgirls (19-1-1) will play Puget Sound (19-1) in the round of 16 on Saturday at a time to be announced. The two teams met at the beginning of last season and UPS won 1-0. It will be a homecoming game for Cowgirl senior goalkeeper Rachel Goold. A native of Everett, Wash., Goold has allowed only three goals this season and has every school record for goalkeepers, including 36 solo shutouts. HSU advanced to the sectionals with a 1-0 win over No. 1 Trinity on Saturday. Mindi Zamora scored the Cowgirls' goal. If the Cowgirls win, they will play the winner of the other sectional semifinal between MacAlester (Minn.) and Washington (Mo.) for the right to go to the Final Four. |
