ABILENE, Texas - Three Hardin-Simmons women's soccer player have been named to the ESPN the Magazine/College Sports Information Director's of American College Division Academic All-District VI First Team as voted on by the sports information director's in the district.

Laura Newbrough, Beth Craig and Marissa Wichkoski all three earned the honor. Wichkoski is on the team as a midfielder. She has a 3.94 GPA in Marketing. Craig and Newbrough both have 4.00 GPAs and made the team as defenders.

HSU was the only American Southwest Conference team represented on the team and the three players on the team were the most by any team.

District VI in CoSIDA includes teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Mississippi. The college division includes players from NAIA, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III.

All first-team selections go on the national ballot which has the winners from all eight districts. The winner of that vote earns All-American honors.
