The Cowgirls have won four straight ASC titles and will be looking for a fifth in a row. The 17-1 Cowgirls have won 15 straight and are ranked sixth in the nation, but have been hit hard by injuries. It has been the most competitive season in recent memory in the ASC. The Cowgirls played one goal games against four of the teams that made the tournament this year.

HSU has won eight of the first 10 American Southwest Conference tournaments. UTD, which the Cowgirls have defeated (one was a tie as it went to penalty kicks) in the finals three of the last four years, is the second seed and has a record of 12-4-3. The top two teams receive a first round bye.

UT Tyler is making its maiden voyage to the ASC Tournament and is the third seed with an 11-3-3 record. They will play sixth-seeded Mary Hardin-Baylor (8-9) in the first round on Friday at 1:30.

Fourth-seeded Mississippi College (12-5) and fifth-seeded Texas Lutheran (11-6-1) will play in the tournament's first game at 11 a.m. on Friday.

HSU will play the winner of MC-TLU at 11 a.m. Saturday and UTD will play the UTT-UMHB winner on Saturday at 1:30.

The finals with an NCAA Tournament berth on the line will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The ASC complimentary pass list will not be used for the tournament. You can keep up with the tournament with livestats and stories on www.hsuathletics.com and the finals will be broadcast on the Internet at www.hsuathletics.com.
