RICHARDSON, Texas - Natalie Longhofer, a freshman midfielder and defender for the Cowgirls, was named American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week on Thursday.

Longhofer was a key defensive player in HSU's two conference shutouts against Concordia and Mary Hardin-Baylor this past weekend. Longhofer helped defend and limit Concordia's shot count down to one and UMHB's to five. Longhofer helped the Cowgirls obtain its 11th shutout of the season.

Longhofer has two goals, 11 shots and four points on the season.

The Cowgirls (13-2-1, 9-0) return to action on Saturday when they take on McMurry (0-14-1, 0-8-1) in ASC action starting at noon at McMurry.
