RICHARDSON, Texas - Alyssa Wester was named American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Wester, a junior midfielder for the Cowgirls, led HSU in two 5-0 divisional shutout wins this past weekend against Schreiner and Texas Lutheran. Wester, who leads HSU in shots on goal with 16, added a goal and assist against Texas Lutheran.

HSU (10-2-1, 7-0) will return to action on Thursday when it hosts the University of Texas at Permian Basin starting at 5 p.m. at Shelton Stadium.
