ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' All-American sweeper Mollie Porter was named American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for her work in the Cowgirls trip to the Great Northwest.

She led a defensive unit that allowed just one shot in the second half and overtime in the win over Pacific Lutheran and helped limit No. 7 Puget Sound to one goal in the 1-0 loss to UPS.

The award was the fourth of Porter's career. HSU returns to action this weekend with games against Emory and Trinity, the top two ranked teams in the region.
