Box Score

SAN ANTONIO - Sophomore forward Mindi Zamora scored a goal in the 20th minute of the game and the Hardin-Simmons defense made it stand up as the Cowgirls moved on to the Sectionals of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship with a 1-0 win over top-ranked Trinity, Saturday at the Blossom Sports Complex.

Zamora scored on a feed from Kelsey Jensen in the upper left of the goal. Zamora's goal came with 20:17 left in the first half and was her 18th goal and fourth game-winner of the season. Jensen notched her 10th assist of the year.

Hardin-Simmons avenged a regular-season 1-0 loss to Trinity. The Cowgirls (19-1-1) advance to the Sweet 16 and Sectional play next weekend against the University of Puget Sound, a 4-1 winner over Redlands in the second round. The site and date of the game will be announced on Sunday. Trinity's season is over at 16-1.

HSU goalkeeper Rachel Goold withstood a charging Trinity offense, tallying four saves as the Tigers took 12 shots and five corner kicks. The Cowgirls took just four shots as TU goalkeeper Stephanie Bull recorded one save.
