Final Stats

ABILENE, Texas - The University of Texas at Dallas set up a rematch of last season's ASC championship game by shutting down East Texas Baptist, 2-0, in a tournament semifinal match at Shotwell Stadium.

The Comets, who improved to 15-2-1, outshot the Lady Tigers, 34-5, and launched 16 shots at ETBU goalkeeper Kelli Shipley, who made 14 saves. ETBU's season ended at 13-7-1.

UTD got the only goal it needed just 6:24 into the game when Amanda Kallus punched in a serve from Lyndsi Ayers that first was redirected on a head pass from Mallorie Lamping. The Comets again had a double-assist on their second goal. Genny Nevitt scored off a Jennie Birely throw-in that was setup by a Natalie Taylor pass.

The Comets meet the HSU Cowgirls in the ASC Tournament championship game Sunday afternoon at noon at the HSU Soccer Complex.
