ABILENE, Texas - Texas-Dallas advanced to the finals of the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament with a 1-0 win over Texas Lutheran, Saturday afternoon at the HSU Soccer Complex. The Comets (14-3-2) will face Hardin-Simmons in the finals for the third straight year. The two teams tied in 2004 with the Cowgirls advancing on penalty kicks. HSU won 1-0 last season. The two teams tied 2-2 on Oct. 6. The last nine games between the two have been decided by one goal or less. Kelli Jackson scored the only goal off a deflection on a corner kick at the 29:07 mark. Both teams had several good scoring chances, but Katie Kistner and Catherine Fox were equal to the task. The finals will be at 1 p.m. Sunday. Texas Lutheran ends its season with a record of 14-6-0. |
