ABILENE, Texas (McMurry) - Hardin-Simmons' 10th-ranked women's soccer team finished American Southwest Conference regular season play undefeated with an 8-0 win over cross-town rival McMurry, Saturday afternoon at McMurry. HSU closed out ASC play 13-0 on the year and improved to 16-1 on its campaign. McMurry closed its season at 2-15-1 overall and 2-10-1 in ASC play. HSU will host the ASC Women's Championship Friday through Sunday at Shelton Stadium. The Cowgirls got on the board in the fifth minute on a Whitney Piendak goal. Stefanie Patterson, Jacky Cox and Kala Chalman each had goals in the first half. In the second stanza, Mindi Zamora scored two goals, Mollie Porter one and Kimberely Fernandez added the final tally in the 88th minute. Rachel Goold and April Johnson split uneventful halves in goal for the Cowgirls. HSU outshot the Indians 38-1 in the contest and 29-0 on goal. |
