ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team is going into the American Southwest Conference Tournament on a roll. The Cowgirls scored 10 more goals in a 10-0 rout of Mary Hardin-Baylor in ASC action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Saturday. HSU has outscored its last seven opponents by a score of 68-0. It was more of the same for the Cowgirls on Senior Day. Amy Kuykendall had her fifth hat trick of the season. She put the Cowgirls on the board with goals in the 13th and 18th minutes and again in the 53rd minute. She now has 25 goals and a school record 18 assists on the year. She passed Kelley Tragesser's school record of 16 assists on the season. Kelsey Jensen and Jordan Morley scored less than three minutes apart to make it 5-0 right before halftime. The Cowgirls added five more goals in the second half. Laura Newbrough, Piendak, Kuykendall, Morgan Loyd and Mindi Zamora had goals. Piendak's goal gave her the HSU single season record with 27 goals on the season. HSU finished the season with a record of 15-0-3 and 12-0-1 in league play. UMHB finished with a record of 7-10-1 and 5-7-1 in league play. HSU earned a bye in the first round of the ASC Tournament it will host next weekend. |
