Final Stats

ODESSA, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won its 12th straight game with a 5-0 blanking of UT-Permian Basin, Wednesday afternoon in Odessa in their regular-season finale.

The Cowgirls jumped on the board in the ninth minute when Stephanie Patterson scored off a Jacky Cox assist. Cathy Castagnos then added to the lead on a feed from Natalie Longhofer in the 23rd minute.

In the first minute of the second half Whitney Piendak scored on a feed from Mindi Zamora. Patterson struck again in the 51st minute from Castagnos and Mindi Zamora scored unassisted a minute late.

HSU has six straight shutouts. Rachel Goold played the first half in goal recording two saves. April Johnson had one save in the second half. HSU outshot UTPB 24-6, including 9-3 on-goal.

The Cowgirls return to action November 7th when it hosts the American Southwest Conference Tournament. They will play the 3:30 game on Friday, which will be followed by a 6 p.m.second semifinal. The final will be Saturday Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Shelton Stadium.
