Cowgirls Claim Victory Over Concordia

ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team defeated Concordia 10-0 Friday in American Southwest Conference action at Shelton Stadium.

Sophomore Laura Freeman and Senior Diana Bosch led the Cowgirls with two goals scored each, while sophomore Katie Bergfeld, senior Sarah Shiflett, junior Alyssa Wester, sophomore Mollie Porter, and freshman Cathy Castagnos had one goal each.

Bosch tied a school record of 32 career assists set by Andrea Gilbreath in tonight's game; one more assist breaks the record.

Freshman Kala Chalman and Castagnos led with two assists each. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Goold had one save in 75 minutes of action and recorded her 10th shutout of the season.

The Cowgirls out shot Concordia 23 to one.

HSU moves to 8-0 in ASC action and 12-2-1 overall and Concordia drops to (1-11, 0-6).

The Cowgirls return to action on Saturday when they host Mary Hardin-Baylor in their last home game of the season starting at 6 p.m. at Shelton Stadium.
