Oct. 23, 2003 IRVING, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team won its 11th straight game with its fifth straight shutout, 3-0, over the University of Dallas, Thursday afternoon in Irving. The Cowgirls scored two goals in the first half, the first by freshman Stefanie Patterson on an assist by fellow freshman Mindi Zamora. The goal was the 10th of the season for Patterson. HSU's lone senior Laura Freeman scored the next goal from Erika Lay in the 35th minute. Freshman Whitney Piendak added an unassisted goal in the 68th minute as the Cowgirls held on for the 3-0 win. Rachel Goold played the first 70 minutes in goal and April Johnson cleaned up the last 20 minutes in net. HSU improved to 12-3 on the season and will close out its conference schedule at McMurry on Saturday at 11 a.m. Dallas fell to 8-5-1 on the season. |
