Kuykendall Records Third Hat Trick as Cowgirls Win 3-0

CLINTON, Miss. - Freshman forward Amy Kuykendall recorded her third hat trick of the season to lead the Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team to a 3-0 American Southwest Conference win over Mississippi College, Friday afternoon in Clinton.

Kuykendall scored in the 16th and 20th minutes to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 lead. She added her third goal just two minutes after halftime to put the game away.

The Cowgirl defense had a strong showing led by Kelly Watson. Freshman goalkeeper Christi Carr recorded her third shutout of the year in goal with five saves.

The Cowgirls improved to 10-0-3 on the year and 8-0-1 in conference play. HSU clinched a spot in the ASC Tournament with the win. Mississippi College fell to 8-5-0 and 4-4-0 in conference play. HSU plays at Louisiana College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
