Cowgirls Remain Undefeated in ASC Play

BELTON, Texas - Getting shots was not the problem for the Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team against Mary Hardin-Baylor, putting in them in the net was in the first half.

HSU had 18 shots in the first half and led just 1-0 at halftime at Mary Hardin-Baylor. In the second half, the Cowgirls had no trouble finding the net as they scored on seven of 35 shots and ran past Mary Hardin Baylor, 8-0, Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference action in Belton.

The Cowgirls outshot the Crusaders 53-1 in the game. Erika Lay and Cathy Castagnos led the Cowgirl effort with three goals each. Jacky Cox and Brittany Enriques also had goals in the game as the Cowgirls improved to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in American Southwest Conference action. UMHB fell to 2-9-1 overall and 2-3-0 in ASC West play.

Rachel Goold got the win in goal for the Cowgirls with 59 minutes in goal. April Johnson finished up the shutout.
