TYLER, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' nationally-ranked women's soccer team continues its dominance of the American Southwest Conference as they shut out UT-Tyler, 2-0, in ASC action in Tyler on Saturday. The Cowgirls have shut out nine straight opponents and have 10 shutouts on the year. HSU got on the board early when Kelsey Jensen scored her second goal of the weekend in the sixth minute. Mindi Zamora had the assist. Kala Chalman made it 2-0 in the 16th minute off a Stefanie Patterson assist. It was all of the scoring for the game. HSU outshot UT-Tyler 29-3 in the game. Rachel Goold and April Johnson shared the shutout both playing a half and stopping one shot each. HSU improved to 10-1 on the year and 8-0 in ASC action. UT-tyler fell to 4-5 overall and 4-3 in ASC play. |
