RICHARDSON, Texas - Freshman Kelsey Jensen gave Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer a key 1-0 American Southwest Conference victory over UT-Dallas with a goal late in the game, Friday night at the Comet Soccer Complex in Richardson. The contest was a tight defensive battle throughout before Jensen gave the Cowgirls the win. Rachel Goold was solid in goal with seven saves in the shutout. The Cowgirls improved to 7-0 in ASC play and 9-1 overall. HSU has won eight straight matches, all by shutout. UT-Dallas fell to 9-3 overall and 5-1 in ASC play. HSU now has an inside track on hosting the ASC Tournament. The Cowgirls have defeated UT-Dallas and Texas Lutheran, the top two contenders for the title on the road. |
