ABILENE, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team kept its American Southwest Conference unbeaten streak alive at 76 games as the Cowgirls tied UT-Dallas 2-2 in action at the HSU Soccer Complex on Friday afternoon. The Cowgirls jumped to an early lead when Whitney Piendak scored off a Jessica Flobeck serve on a corner kick in the eighth minute. UT-Dallas answered in the 13th minute with a Genny Nevitt goal. Piendak came right back and scored on a nice move and rocket shot from about 25 yards out on the right side of the box in the 19th minute. It was her 15th goal of the season. UT-Dallas tied the game on a Theresa Buckles goal in the 66th minute. HSU outshot the Comets 21-11, but Catherine Fox had eight saves, including one late in regulation from point blank range. Christi Carr had seven saves for the Cowgirls. It was the eighth straight meeting between the two teams that resulted in a one goal or less outcome. HSU is 3-1-4 in those meetings. HSU is 8-0-3 on the year and UT-Dallas is 6-3-2. The Cowgirls are 6-0-1 in conference play and own a half-game lead over UT-Tyler. UT-Dallas is 4-1-1 in league action.
