RICHARDSON, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's soccer team remained unbeaten in American Southwest Conference action with a 1-0 win over UT-Dallas, Thursday evening in Richardson. The Cowgirls scored the only goal of the game in the final minute of the first half. It was actually an own goal as it went off a UTD player on a corner kick. Becca Gault served a good ball to Carlyn Powers, who hit it off the UTD player for the goal. HSU had the shot advantage in the defensive struggle, 7-6, but UTD led on goal 4-2. Christi Carr pitched the shutout in the pipes for the Cowgirls. The win pushed the Cowgirls unbeaten streak in ASC play to 89 games. HSU is now 5-0-2 in the last seven games with UTD and all seven games have been decided by a goal or less. HSU is now 10-1 on the year and 7-0 in ASC play. UTD fell to 5-4-3 overall and 4-1-1 in league play. HSU will play at the University of the Ozarks on Saturday. |
